Event description

The police and border service of Estonia intends to build fence with height of two and a half meters on the land part of the border with Russia. The total length of the fence will be about 108 kilometers. The upper part of the fence will be reinforced with barbed wire. In wetlands of the boundary line there will be no fence, only border posts and a control strip will be installed. For the protection of the Estonian-Russian border will also be used video cameras and unmanned aerial vehicles, and in the waters of lake they will place more than 600 border buoys. Technical strengthening of the border will begin in 2018, the total cost will reach the amount of 71 million euros.
