Victims of communism are remembered in Tallinn
Place: Tallinn, Estonia
Today in Europe, the Day of Remembrance of the victims of totalitarian regimes is celebrated, to which primarily the communist and the Nazi. From both of these regimes, Estonia suffered greatly: tens of thousands of people were killed and tortured in the camps. On this day, a conference was held condemning communism and Nazism for which experts and historians from the EU countries gathered. There was a small scandal. The Greek Minister of Justice Stavros Kontonis refused to attend the event, that the Estonian side is mistaken in its equating communism and fascism.
