Event description

The exhibition devoted to the 100 year anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire is open in Riga ghetto museum. The organizers of the exhibition Latvian businessman Mkhitar Mkhitaryan and Jewish association "Shamir" said that genocide is a tragedy and people must remember about it so it will never happened again. Because of that in the center of Riga two expositions are located nearby - the memory of the victims of the Holocaust and the memory of the victims, destroyed in the Ottoman Empire in 1915. A few days later in the Museum of Latvian Holokaust will open another exhibition wich dedicated to the memory of the Roma that were killed during the Second World War.

Interview

Mkhitar Mkhitaryan
exhibitions sponsor

01:29-01:56 (Ru) The basic idea is people must remember this tragedy. We live in Latvia and we need to know about it so that it does not happen again. This exhibition is a mini-copy of the Yerevan Museum. We brought the exhibits directly from the Yerevan museum this is the most important.
